Think Vitamin Radio #9

We have just put the mics away after recording episode #9 of our podcast Think Vitamin Radio. This week we were joined by guest host Jamie Rumbelow. He's been hanging out with us for the last two weeks doing work experience.

We thought it would be fun to have him join in on the show. We'll be talking more about the projects Jamie has been helping us out with in due course, two of which are related to the new version of Think Vitamin.

On this weeks show we discuss
  • The Old Spice Guy Viral Campaign
  • CouchDB turns 1
  • More on playing with media queries
  • The iPhone 4 and Face Time
  • carsonified.com home page redesign
  • HTML5
The show will be going live next week so keep an eye for it. You can of course subscribe to the iTunes and RSS feeds.
HTML5It seems to be the week of HTML5 books arriving on my desk. No sooner have I got half way through Jeremy Keith's "HTML5 for Web Designers" than a copy of "Introducing HTML5" by Bruce Lawson and Remy Sharp drops through the letterbox.

In many ways the two books are very complimentary. Jeremy's book is a great introduction to HTML5 and very much targeted at the "web designer". Bruce and Remy's book goes much deeper into the topic, especially the new JavaScript API's. Both are definitely worth a read.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Bruce and Remy. Given that I named the audio file "burp" you might have an idea of how it went. That said it was fun and there was plenty of chat about the book and HTML5 in general.

That interview and more will be released on Think Vitamin in the next couple of weeks.
Around the WebHere's a quick run down of we have been reading this week, both on Think Vitamin and elsewhere.

And finally - We're back on thinkvitamin.com

Just a quick heads up to let you know that Think Vitamin is back at it's former home of thinkvitmain.com. I posted a quick article on the reasons behind the move.

Thanks for reading!
